You don’t have to pull out your hair and grind your teeth if you accidentally deleted some files or if some sort of accident occurred and you lost some important files. You don’t have to do that because there are data recovery tools out there that can bring back your deleted or lost files. One such data recovery tool is iData-Recovery’s aptly named Data Recovery Wizard.

Data Recovery Wizard is available as a paid and as a free version. The paid version does not come with any limitations – if you pay and get a license that is; if you use the trial version, you’ll be able to scan for recoverable files but you won’t be able to recover them. Data Recovery Wizard Free, unlike the aforementioned trial version, lets you recover data – but it’s limited to recovering 1GB of data from non-BitLocker encrypted drives.

No matter which version you choose to get, Data Recovery Wizard or Data Recovery Wizard Free, one thing remains unchanged: installing the data recovery tool on your Windows PC is an effortless task that takes little time and requires a minimal amount of effort. It must be mentioned here that iData-Recovery has a paid Mac version called iData Mac Data Recovery and a free Mac version called Free Mac Data Recovery.

Data Recovery Wizard and Data Recovery Wizard Free both display the same two data recovery options on their respective interfaces:
Data Recovery – recover deleted files, recover data from formatted, inaccessible, deleted or lost drives. I selected this option to recover an image from a portable storage device; check out the Quick Look video that accompanies this article to see how easy it was to do that.
Lost Partition Recovery – find deleted or lost partitions and recover data from them.

Here’s a minor observation: from a visual point of view, Data Recovery Wizard (Free) looks a lot like M3 Data Recovery, a data recovery tool that I reviewed a few days ago.

Go get Data Recovery Wizard and use it to recover deleted or lost files. It can bring back photos that you delete by accident, important files stored on a drive that’s now inaccessible, and so on. The only drawback is that it can recover a total of 1GB of data.

Pros

Data Recovery Wizard is available as paid and as a free edition; installing either of them is an effortless task. Two data recovery options are displayed on the application’s interface: Data Recovery and Lost Partition Recovery. Bring back files that were deleted by accident, bring back files from formatted drives, and so on.

Cons

Data Recovery Wizard Free will recover a maximum of 1GB of data from non-BitLocker encrypted drives.
